DIALOGUE invites galleries to show works from the 80’s and 90’s in conversation with contemporary pieces.
While COLLECTIBLE is dedicated to contemporary creation, references and echoes of the history of design cannot be ignored. Placed in the context of a dialogue between historical pieces from the turn of the century and contemporary design objects, this new section offers a unique perspective on the relation between old and new.
This section offers booths and walls within a unique scenography.
The deadline for submissions is Monday 30 October 2023.
The DIALOGUE Section will be selected by the architect Jean-François Declercq, Founder of Atelier Jespers (Belgium).
Expert in both historical and contemporary design, he sold in 2014 his outstanding vintage design collection to an important Parisian auction house. He has been carrying since a variety of activities, with a particular focus on Belgian designers. Living in the 1928 house-studio of sculptor Oscar Jespers, he reinstated its original function of housing exhibition by showing contemporary collectible design. He since then became an expert in 21st century Design for Bonhams Belgium, Tajan and R&C France, and co-founded Expressive in Paris.
